BlackBerry 9720 menjadi smartphone terakhir pengusung OS BB 7.1. Smartphone ini sudah bisa di pesan melalui toko retailer resmi BlackBerry di Inggris dengan sistem tanpa kontrak.
BlackBerry 9720 ini juga akan mengusung spesifikasi yang hampir sama dengan era BlackBerry Curve seperti layar 2,8 inci beresolusi 480 x 360 piksel, kamera 5MP, dan 512MB RAM,internal memori 512MB, slot microSD, kamera 5MP, dan baterai berdaya 1.450 mAh.
